The orchestra will perform works by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, Jaques Ibert, and Ludwig van Beethoven, conducted by Tyler Gordon. CSN flute professor Clare Birmingham will be the soloist in the finale of Ibert’s Flute Concerto.

Southern Nevada audiences will be treated to a musical celebration of Cinco De Mayo under the artistic direction of Dr. Lindsey N. O’Connor. The KO Knudson Academy of the Arts Band will also perform.
May 06 Wednesday
Enjoy jazz tunes old and new performed by the CSN Tuesday Jazz Combos under the direction of Dr. David Phy. Also performing: the Green Valley High School Jazz Band directed by Michael Benner.
Master storyteller José Rivera was inspired to write Six Children’s Plays for Adults by his young daughter. She asked if we have giants in our fairy tales, do giants have people in theirs? These metaphorical and poetic fairy tales for adults brim with magical realism, overflow with imagination, and radiate with contemporary relevance making for a soulful evening of theatre.

CSN's Department of Fine Arts Music Program has three concerts by student ensembles scheduled;
May 7: The Chamber Chorale will have a wide variety of selections and the Jazz Singers perform a select set of jazz standards.
May 9: An evening of Big Band classics as well as contemporary selections with CSN’s Jazz Band and the Monday and Wednesday Combo.
May 11: The award-winning Mariachi Plata performs.

Celebrate International Migratory Bird Day with a folded paper bird workshop with artist Bobbie Ann Howell. Supplies will be provided. The workshop will cover the basic pattern, folding, and design options. Your bird can rest on a table or send a message about the beauty of birds.
