There’s never a shortage of things to see, hear, and do in Nevada. Here are some highlighted cultural events for the week starting July 8.
July 9-12
Fast-paced, irreverent, Wild West rock musical on the founding of the Democratic Party. Concerning controversial President Andrew Jackson, the Trail of Tears, and the complicated adolescence of America during the early 19th Century. It also asks the question: is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he's really, really hot?

Las Vegas Little Theatre is proud to present Come From Away, the acclaimed Tony Award-winning musical by David Hein and Irene Sankoff in our air-conditioned Mainstage.
In the days following September 11, 2001, 7,000 airline passengers found themselves unexpectedly stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. What began as a moment of uncertainty became an extraordinary story of compassion, friendship, and humanity. Featuring a spirited Celtic-inspired score and a fast-paced, heartfelt story, Come From Away reminds us that even in challenging times, people can come together in remarkable ways. Live band on stage.
Friday: July 10, 17 & 24 at 7:00 PM
Saturday: July 11, 18 & 25 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
Sunday: July 12, 19 & 26 at 2:00 PM

TSTMRKT (pronounced “Test Market”) is a performance art sketch comedy amalgamation held together with film loops, cut-n-paste theatre, and a relentless soundtrack. There is no “sound person” running the effects. It’s just a “start” button and a bag of nerves.
Once the actor hits “start” on the playback, the film collages and sound effects are triggered only by time. It’s the actor’s task to keep track of each second that passes, each syllable that is uttered, and each movement created in space. If anything is off, the entire thing falls apart. It’s a theatrical tightrope. You’ve never seen anything like it.
Hailing from Las Vegas, TSTMRKT has performed at the prestigious San Francisco Sketchfest, The Cleveland Ingenuity Festival, The Dallas Comedy Festival, The Hollywood Fringe Festival, and the Portland Sketch Comedy Festival.

Step into the world of a modern-day Black Renaissance man — an artist whose life’s work transcends medium and becomes movement. This exhibit brings together the layered expressions of a creator who raps with purpose, paints with soul, teaches with intention, and leads with vision.
Each piece on the wall pulses with narrative: canvases rich with color and symbolism that explore Black identity, resilience, and cultural memory. Alongside them, echoes of lyricism — verses that speak truth, resistance, and hope — invite viewers to not only see, but hear the rhythm of lived experience. His voice carries beyond the studio and into the classroom, where education becomes liberation, and into the community, where his nonprofit work transforms art into action.
On exhibit at West Las Vegas Library from July 14 through September 22.
Monday-Thursday: 10:00AM - 8:00PM
Friday-Sunday: 10:00AM - 6:00PM
