    NV Energy Warns Of Scammers Impersonating Employees

    NV Energy issued a warning about people impersonating employees of the company.

    The company said the scammers are calling business and residential customers, making threats about cutting off their electric service, and demanding the customer pay immediately to keep it on.

    NV Energy Plans Power Outage On Mt. Charleston

    NV Energy is preparing for a planned power outage on Mt Charleston on Friday. 

    The planned outage is due to concern over extremely dry fire conditions.  It’s set to begin 10 a.m. Friday and run for 24 hours, depending on weather conditions.

    Nevada Utility Requests Power Conservation During Heat Wave

    LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's largest electricity provider is asking customers in its northern and southern areas to conserve electricity during the afternoon and evening on both Tuesday and Wednesday to help the power grid cope with a heat wave continuing across much of the West.

    Power Restored After Substation Fire Overnight

    Electricity has been restored for more than 8,000 homes and businesses in southwest Las Vegas after a fire at a utility substation caused an overnight power outage.

    NV Energy says power came back for the last remaining affected customers a little before 6 a.m. Friday.
