Power Restored After Substation Fire Overnight

Electricity has been restored for more than 8,000 homes and businesses in southwest Las Vegas after a fire at a utility substation caused an overnight power outage.

NV Energy says power came back for the last remaining affected customers a little before 6 a.m. Friday.

The fire was reported around 11:15 Thursday night. No injuries have been reported and investigators are assessing damage to the substation.
