Volunteers pack boxes at a Thanksgiving food giveaway last year for those hit by the pandemic. Clark County is debating how best to use its federal COVID aid.

The Clark County Commission has until the end of August to decide how to spend $440 million in federal funds sent to the county under President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan.

The money is going to support those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, including renters, small businesses and low-wage workers.

Commissioners have until Aug. 31 to develop a plan on how the county intends to allocate the money over the next three years.
