Las Vegas Councilwoman Victoria Seaman announced on Monday that she’s accepted a leadership position at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Seaman is slated to be the new regional director for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s department. She will be overseeing half a dozen mountain west and midwest states, not including Nevada.

To take this new position, she’s resigning from her role on the Las Vegas City Council, where she’s represented Ward 2 for the last six years.

She will also be ending her bid to represent Clark County Commission District F, a seat currently held by Commissioner Justin Jones.

The City Council is expected to fill Seaman’s position within 30 days of her leaving.
