    Nevada Extends Highway Closure After Quake Damaged Repaired

    Jun 16, 2020

    The temporary closure of part of a major north-south highway in west-central Nevada to repair earthquake damage is being extended through June 30. U.S. 95 between the U.S. Route 6 and State Route 360 junctions in Esmeralda and Mineral counties had been scheduled to reopen Wednesday.

    Nevada Transportation Department Expects Cuts Of $143M

    CARSON CITY, Nev.  — The Nevada Department of Transportation expects $143 million in budget cuts over the next two years because of declining highway fund revenues caused by the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

    State officials are moving ahead with a $58 million freeway project near Apex Industrial Park.

    A five-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 93 will be widened from Interstate 15 to Apex Power Parkway in North Las Vegas.

    Centennial Bowl Gets Green Light For Next Phase Of Construction

    Construction is expected to wrap up by July 4 on the current phase of the Centennial Bowl project in northwest Las Vegas, and state officials on have started looking ahead to two additional jobs aimed at completing Nevada’s the interchange as soon as 2022.

    Pyramid Lake Highway To Reopen

    Mar 03, 2017

    The Nevada Department of Transportation is opening Pyramid Lake Highway after completing the majority of flood damage repairs.

    State Route 446 has been closed since flooding damaged much of the roadway, caving in one 50-foot section of the highway and washing out 10 other areas.

    The 'Big Squeeze' To Hit Commuters In March

    The next phase of Project Neon will hit las vegas commuters later this month.

    Officials with the Department of Transportation have called it the Big Squeeze, as U.S. Highway 95 will be narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Rancho Drive and the Spaghetti Bowl Interchange.

    NDOT Plans $8.7 Million For Nye County

    The Nevada Department of Transportation announced it will undertake $8.7 million in highway improvements for Nye County.

    The upgrades will include a section of Highway 160 near mile marker 26.5 known as Johnnie Curve.
