State officials are moving ahead with a $58 million freeway project near Apex Industrial Park.
A five-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 93 will be widened from Interstate 15 to Apex Power Parkway in North Las Vegas.
A contract was awarded Monday by the Nevada Department of Transportation to Ames Construction to begin the project, which is projected to be finished in nine months.

NDOT officials said that Faraday Future’s decision last month to not build a factory at the Apex complex would not discourage plans to complete the Garnet interchange project. The Garnet interchange is part of a major hauling route for truckers, and there is still hope for more growth at Apex.
