Movie lovers can enjoy Nevada’s largest film festival as the 22nd Annual Dam Short Film Festival returns to screen with more than 150 short films over six days.
With over two decades of successfully entertaining audiences, the Dam Short Film Festival will showcase 32 carefully selected, thematic, 60-to-90-minute program blocks in categories including animation, comedy, documentary, drama, horror (presented on Friday the 13th), international, sci-fi, Nevada, love & romance (presented on Valentine's Day), and underground.
Each short film will be presented using state-of-the-art digital projection in Boulder City's Elaine K. Smith Building.

The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. With a career spanning more than seven decades, their numerous accolades include six Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award from both the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and The Recording Academy/Grammys, as well as induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Lotte Reiniger’s astonishing 1926 adaptation of tales from One Thousand and One Nights, The Adventures of Prince Achmed is the first feature length animated film, using striking silhouette cutouts and gorgeous color tinting to bring to life the story of an Arabian prince who is whisked away on a flying horse to an enchanted land where he tangles with an evil sorcerer, rescues a princess, and joins forces with none other than Aladdin.
Morricone Youth is a collective of New York City musicians founded in 1999, reinterpreting 100-plus film and television works all over the world, creating multiple new scores for legendary silent films and cult midnight movies.
The band will perform the soundtrack live in front of the screen at The Beverly as the restored film plays.

Springs Preserve will host the 17th annual edition of the Black Month History Festival, and the theme this year is "A Century of Black History Commemorations." Gather to participate in educational activities, arts and crafts, watch live performances, and view photography exhibits. Folks can also buy cultural items from vendors and dine on authentic African-American cuisine.
