There’s no shortage of what to see, hear, and do at any time in Nevada. Here are some highlighted cultural events for the week starting December 3.
Through December 14
Nevada Conservatory Theatre’s A Christmas Carol 1941 time-travels from mid-1800s London to WWII-era Chicago, where swing gave way to bebop and the effects of the Great Depression lingered despite the promise of a rearmament rebound. Enter Ebenezer Scrooge — always squeezing a buck, and giving off a chill that could shame a Lake Michigan breeze — the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and everyone’s favorite redemption arc.
December 6
A Spirited Christmas Carol is a joyful, modern retelling of the classic holiday redemption story — with a twist! When Clint Briggs is labeled “unredeemable,” the Heavenly Holiday Office assigns the classic trio of Christmas Ghosts to change his heart before Christmas morning. Through magical visits to the past, present, and future, Clint discovers the impact of his choices on others. Lively dance scenes and heartfelt moments guide his transformation and, along the way, he discovers how one person’s choices can ripple into the lives around them. By the Bunker Dance Center of Las Vegas.
