There’s no shortage of what to see, hear, and do at any time in Nevada.

Here are some highlighted cultural events for the week starting November 5.

Through November 22:

Cosmic Chicano is an exploration of Mexican-American identity through the lens of the mythical, the ancestral, and the now. These works blend the intimate with the infinite. Central to artist Brian Martinez's journey is the luchador mask: a symbol of cultural pride, transformation, and duality. In his work, the mask becomes both relic and vessel — a way of seeing the world and of being seen.

Hours: Thu-Fri, 4-8p; Sat, 12-4p.

November 7:

UNLV celebrates the 40th anniversary of the choral community in Las Vegas with the 40th edition of its Madrigal Festival. Join hundreds of high school students as they share their school’s musical traditions in a festive atmosphere. The festival will also feature special appearances by the Las Vegas Master Singers, the UNLV Singers, and the university’s premier a cappella ensemble, Scarlet Tones. Concerts are at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

November 7-8:

A whimsical journey alongside Wee Wennie Wiener, an unlikely hot dog hero searching for inner hot dog truth. This multidisciplinary comedic production by the CFACoLab explores identity, diversity, and the art of the hot dog through an array of vibrant characters clad in hot-dog-inspired costumes. Each scene, playfully dubbed a "DOG," features effects, dance, and culinary adventures, culminating in an epic finale that celebrates the cultural significance of the hot dog.

November 11:

Not exactly a night, but 90 minutes of the best comedy films from the last decade of the Dam Short Film Festival. Also, a chance for film and community supporters to chat with Dam Short Film Society board members before and after the program, as well as participate in the silent auction. There's a reception with light bites at 6 p.m., with the films starting at 7.

The 2026 festival will be February 11-16 in Boulder City. They're accepting submissions.
