UNLV's award-winning jazz program celebrates 50 years

UNLV Jazz

UNLV’s jazz ensemble program has a lot to celebrate.

International jazz festival appearances; 39 distinguished awards; countless album releases. And alumni who became famous in the jazz world.

This month, there’s one more thing to add: the jazz program turns 50 years old this month.

UNLV will mark the occasion with three consecutive nights of performances from student, alumni and guest performers.

The program’s success is not only a testament to the enduring appeal of jazz, but UNLV’s ability to find and cultivate the genre’s most promising musicians.

And a lot of that has to do with Professor Dave Loeb. He’s the director and coordinator of the university’s Division of Jazz and Commercial Music.

For information on the live performances, visit the UNLV website.

Guests: Dave Loeb, director, coordinator and professor, Division of Jazz and Commercial Music, UNLV
