Trial Date Reset In Fatal Vegas Strip Sidewalk Crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Trial has been pushed back to March 2020 for a woman accused of intentionally driving into pedestrians on a Las Vegas sidewalk in December 2015, killing one person and injuring at least 34 others.

Authorities in Las Vegas say a 69-year-old man is dead after being hit by a pickup truck.

Las Vegas Metro Police say the accident occurred about 8:45 p.m. Saturday near West Flamingo Road and South Lindell.

Investigators say the pedestrian wasn't in a crosswalk when he was struck.

Las Vegas, One of the Worst Cities for Pedestrians

A recent study came out showing the top ten worst metro areas for pedestrians.  Las Vegas was number six on the list.  Add to that the string of pedestrian deaths in the last few weeks, and Metro Police and others are trying to figure out how to keep roads safe.  Is Las Vegas poorly designed?  What plan can help pedestrians and drivers co-exist on the roads?
