LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials are going to give sidewalk stickers a try in an effort to curb a spike in pedestrians getting hit by vehicles in Las Vegas.
As part of a Zero Fatalities campaign, city and state transportation and public safety officials plan Tuesday to install 20 decals along Eastern Avenue at places to remind people not to jaywalk — and to cross the busy boulevard safely.
Officials say the death toll is climbing statewide, with more than 46 pedestrian deaths so far this year.
That's up nearly 50 percent from the 31 deaths reported in the same period last year.

She says most deaths have been in Clark County, where 34 cases have been reported in 2016.
