If you live in Nevada, you might have some money sitting around, waiting for you to claim.

Feb. 1 is National Unclaimed Property Day, when Nevada State Treasurer Zach Conine's office works to return as much money as possible.

About 1 in 7 Nevadans have some amount of unclaimed property, which his office says comes from forgotten bank accounts, insurance benefits, rebate cards and more.

The state has about $1 billion in unclaimed property. Since 2019, Conine's office has returned more than $236 million.
