Summer Camp Introduces Nevada Teens To Life On The Range

Kathryn Dyer Nevada Range Program Lead for the Bureau of Land Management

Every year, Nevada high school students have the chance to learn firsthand about the state’s desert and mountain rangelands.

The N evada Youth Range Camp will celebrate its 60 th anniversary this year, from June 14 through 20.

The program includes lessons about ecology and land management, but teens also get the chance to do the kinds of activities you’d see at any other summer camp – like swimming, volleyball and hanging out around the fire.

Kathryn Dyer is Nevada Range Program Lead for the Bureau of Land Management. She also helps run the camp.
