Investigators Seize Items During Probe Of Deadly Las Vegas Fire

Search warrant documents show that investigators seized a computer and paperwork from a downtown Las Vegas apartment building where six people died last month.

Inspectors have already cited building owners for code violations, but no criminal charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation.

Residents of the Alpine Motel Apartments said the building lacked heat and they used kitchen stoves for warmth.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal obtained search warrant records that showed investigators were looking for inspection records, resident complaints and communication between tenants, managers and the hotel owner.

An attorney representing the building owner says he's helping with the investigation and conducting his own probe.
