Rep. Titus Co-Sponsors Bill To Keep DACA Files From Immigration Authorities

U.S. Representative Dina Titus, D-NV., is co-sponsoring a bill in the U.S. House to keep DACA, which stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, recipients’ files away from federal immigration authorities.

Monday on Nevada NewsmakersTitus said she is concerned that the information provided to the federal government for people to enter the childhood arrival program could help immigration authorities with deportation efforts should that program be eliminated.

President Donald Trump has given Congress six months to pass legislation regarding the 800,000 DACA recipients in the U.S.

Titus also expressed concern over Nevada failing to join 15 other states in a lawsuit trying to block Trump’s plan to end DACA protection.
