An interview with Amy Vilela, challenging Titus for place in Congress

Amy Vilela

Nevada's 1st Congressional District has long been a Democratic stronghold.

Once the heart of Las Vegas, redistricting has shifted its boundaries to include more of suburban Clark County. That makes it a bit more competitive.

Democratic incumbent Dina Titus, who has represented that district for the last decade, is facing a challenge from both sides.

Her opponent in the June's primary is Amy Vilela. No stranger to Nevada politics, the progressive activist previously ran for the 4th Congressional District in 2008.
