CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has big decisions to make on the future of the state's energy and health care policies with several bills the Legislature sent to him in its final hours.
The governor signed a dozen bills Tuesday but faces hundreds more, including several measures that lawmakers passed him just before the session closed at the end of Monday.
Assembly Bill 206 would have Nevada implement one of the nation's highest goals for clean energy production.
Assembly Bill 374 is a Democratic bid to allow anyone to sign up for government-subsidized health care, Medicaid, beginning in 2019.
Lawmakers also transmitted proposals for greater oversight of drivers for ride-sharing companies like Uber, time limits for police and laboratories to test rape kits, and expedited health insurance coverage for immigrant children.
