Judge Approves County Purchase Of The Historic Moulin Rouge

A judge approved Clark County’s bid for the former Moulin Rouge property, opening a new chapter for the historic West Las Vegas property.

The Moulin Rouge once housed the first desegregated hotel and casino in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez approved the county’s $6.2 million bid for the 15-acre site located on Bonanza Road.

Over the years, multiple redevelopment efforts have tried and failed and a series of fires have since ravaged the structures that remain.

In order to uphold its gaming license, the Moulin Rouge opens once a year with a pop-up casino for 24 hours.
