Despite Not Getting ESAs Passed, Gov. Sandoval Happy With Legislative Session

Aside from funds for the Education Savings Accounts program, Nevada’s Republican governor managed to obtain legislative support for most of the goals he laid out in his State of the State address.

The Nevada Independent reports legislators signed off on a bi-annual budget of $8.1 billion and approved measures to tax recreational marijuana, improve cyber security and battle addiction to opioid painkillers, among many others.

Governor Brian Sandoval says even though the school voucher program he championed didn’t make it through, he was ultimately happy with the end of his last legislative session in office.
