Support UP is a free monthly virtual peer-support group hosted by Rest & Reconnect LV, a grassroots organization creating no-cost, accessible spaces for disabled and chronically ill people in the Las Vegas area. Rest & Reconnect LV was created to help unite the existing disability community and create accessible events.

Participation is flexible. You can talk, listen, use chat, keep your camera off, or just be present. No one has to share a diagnosis, disability, condition, or personal history.

October's topic is rest. How can you rest today? Inspired by Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey, this month’s Support UP group will be a bit different. During this session, they suggest that everyone bring an activity they enjoy that they can work on for at least 30 minutes. Bring a spooky craft, paints, a book, or another relaxing activity, and enjoy resting with others!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. and S.A.F.E. House invites the community to its annual candlelight Domestic Violence Vigil. It's a time to remember the men, women, and children whose lives have been lost to domestic violence, and to stand with survivors as a community.

Through shared poetry, personal testimonies, and quiet connection, attendees will honor those we’ve lost, uplift those still healing, and raise awareness about the realities domestic violence survivors face every day.

All are welcome to attend....take a light to carry.

For Black women, beauty is deeply connected to culture, identity, self-expression, and community. But it is also connected to health, access, consumer safety, and the fundamental right to know what is in the products used every day.

Spreading the Beauty Truth Conference is bringing together the Black community, researchers, health experts, beauty professionals, advocates, and innovators for honest, practical conversation about the beauty industry and its impact. This interactive conference brings together solutions, answers, and resources needed to access clean beauty and support a woman's health journey.
