Join BMI for a reading and conversation with playwright and writer Cherry Lou Sy, author of Love Can’t Feed You, with Shearing Fellow Monica Macansantos.
Cherry Lou Sy is a writer and playwright originally from the Philippines and currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BA at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU and her MFA in playwriting from Brooklyn College, where she has been an adjunct lecturer in the English and American Studies departments. Cherry is also a teacher with PEN America’s DREAMing Out Loud.
Monica Macansantos holds an MFA from the Michener Center at the University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD from the International Institute of Modern Letters at the Victoria University of Wellington. She is the author of the forthcoming essay collection Returning to My Father’s Kitchen, and the story collection Love and Other Rituals.
This event is part of the Kwentuhan at Chikahan – Las Vegas Filipino Book Club series.

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum's Harmony in Diversity exhibition celebrates the diversity of local artists and their art highlighting connections and experiences with nature. This one-day event will have readings, music, dance, and art demonstrations, with a focus on diverse perspectives and the cultures found in Las Vegas.
The exhibit will be on display the month of April.

Worry and stress and feeling tense are common problems for people today. Enjoying life to the full can be difficult. Many people have found that meditation can help. This meditation class has two guided meditations, a short chanted prayer, an exploration of the topic for that day, and insight on how meditation can become a part of daily life.
Each class is self contained. Drop in at any time. Everyone is welcome.
Sometimes it might feel as if elements of our life are out of control. We can be intimidated by changing circumstances, feeling that there’s nothing we can do to change a situation. Many people have found that meditation can turn those thoughts around. These monthly meditation classes are designed to help you discover the power of meditation to positively transform your life.
