What will the development around the A's stadium look like -- and who's behind it?

The Athletics' Las Vegas stadium has gone vertical. Now it needs a casino, right?

Enter Bally’s -- and no, we’re not talking about the Strip property now known as the Horseshoe. Last week the gaming company released artwork and plans for its 26-acre mixed-use development to be built at the southeast corner of Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard. It will surround the forthcoming stadium.

The development will emphasize entertainment, dining, and retail, especially in a front-facing plaza that will welcome those going to the stadium and the casino.

It’s an ambitious plan from a company that’s never built anything for the Strip before – and has been in the news of late for its issues with building a casino in Chicago. Bally's currently carries around $5.5 million dollars of debt.
