Nevada's gaming industry is on a hot streak

Hello I'm Nik/Unsplash

Maybe check the dice?

Nevada casinos matched a record streak of eight straight months of $1 billion or more in house winnings in October, defying pessimists who said recovery from the pandemic would take months, if not years.

In the latest haul, casinos won a little more than $1.2 billion last month, matching a mark set before the Great Recession in 2007, the Gaming Control Board reported this week.

The season has also been busy in the boardroom with the departure of Wynn Resorts’ CEO, and the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians clearing a major regulatory hurdle in its purchase of the off-Strip Palms.
