Last year, Las Vegas hit a new record with more than 42 million tourists visiting the valley.
Almost eight million of those people were international travelers, visiting from all over the world.
According to Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, that number represents about 10 percent of all international travelers coming to the U.S.
With new casinos in the works, that number is bound to grow, but can Las Vegas' infrastructure keep up with it?
Dow joins KNPR to talk about the value of international travelers to Las Vegas and some of the challenges that still exist.
Friday, Roger Dow,will speak at the Preview Las Vegas tradeshow, joining a speaker panel including Stephen Miller, Director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at UNLV; Robert Lang, executive director, Brookings Mountain West; Rossie Ralenkotter, President, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority; Dag Reckhorn, VP of Global Manufacturing for Faraday Future; and Jim Murren, Chairman/CEO of MGM Resorts International.
