The Douglass-Frey Ranch in Fallon, Nevada is now on the National Register of Historic Places, which is administered by the National Park Service.
The ranch is located east of Reno in the Lahontan Valley and is 22 acres in all.
KNPR talked with Jim Bertolini, who is with the State Preservation Office. in Carson City about the significance of the Douglass-Frey Ranch, especially the ranch house, which was designed by Nevada-born architect Frederick J. DeLongchamps.
He designed it in the Prairie style, a type of architecture more common to the American midwest.
