Seventh Graders Re-enact a Civil War battle

A couple of teachers at Cram Middle School decided to give a lesson about the Civil War.  But, instead of reading articles or searching for videos online, the teachers felt a more hands on approach would be more effective.  So they held a re-enactment.  Students dressed in Civil War uniforms, created regiments and fought on the athletic field.  How much more did the students learn from this experience?
