Emerging gateways for immigrants and how it impacts education

A new report from Brookings says that Las Vegas has become an emerging gateway city for immigrants. That population is mostly comprised of low skilled workers who came to the city for construction jobs during economic boom times. The report says that growing population underscores the need to make sure the children of those immigrants succeed in school so they can be well prepared for an increasingly globalized job market. We'll talk with the new CCSD deputy superintendent of instruction and the author of the report about how the growing immigrant population and education converge.
