The Las Vegas I Remember

Laura Belle Gang was born in Cincinnati and eventually moved to Los Angeles where she met her husband, Maxwell Kelch, a broadcast engineer. The two moved to Las Vegas in 1939 when they realized they wanted to open a radio station and discovered there wasn't one in Las Vegas. Laura Belle Kelch spoke with KNPR's Tim Anderson in 1998 for the "Las Vegas I Remember Series" about the origins of Las Vegas' first full time radio station and the role it played during World War II.
