Yosemite Won't Reopen Some Campgrounds Amid Virus Concerns

YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) — California's Yosemite National Park says it will hold off on reopening some closed campgrounds through the month of July because of social distancing concerns in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

Wildfire Near Yosemite National Park Now Threatening Homes

The Ferguson Fire west of Yosemite National Park is now 21,000 acres and is getting closer to homes. 

The fire’s eastern front is about four miles from the towns El Portal and West Yosemite. Another front in the southwest is moving toward the town of Jerseydale.
