Station Casinos launched the country's first legal, pay-to-play online poker site on April 30. Right now, the site can only be used by people in Nevada. Other companies are preparing to introduce poker websites, and that has some people worried about the affect on problem gamblers. Senators Clash On Internet Poker

Nevada's two senators are at loggerheads over how to proceed with a bill to legalize Internet poker. The bill has bipartisan support among Nevadans, especially the governor and the casinos, who think it will boost the sagging local economy. But Senate Republicans are less than enthusiastic, and it will take 15 to get the bill to pass.

Pokerstars Pays $731 Million to Settle Charges

Online Poker in Washington

While Nevada and New Jersey legislators were thinking about legalizing online poker, it's become the law in the nation's capital. The District of Columbia has authorized its lottery office to run an online poker site and expects to rake in $4.3 million in 2012. Unless, of course, the Congress kills it. It's something of a mystery as to why Congress allowed the district plans to get as far as they have. We find out what's going on and how Congress is likely to react now that it's getting on the radar.
