Las Vegas-Area Count Of Homeless People Finds Fewer in 2019

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Southern Nevada officials say a homeless count has found fewer people living in shelters or on the streets in 2019 than last year.

Clark County officials announced Thursday that the count conducted over two days in January recorded 5,286 people.

Advocates are preparing for the 2011 Homeless Count at the end of January. For two days volunteers will try to get a head count of those who are homeless in Las Vegas and surrounding areas. The count is important because it can help determining the number of services needed and help get federal money to pay for those services.
