Flash Flooding Kills 2 Sisters, Ages 7 And 3, In Utah Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two sisters ages 7 and 3 have died in flash flooding that sent torrents of water roaring into a narrow canyon in the Utah desert.

Authorities said Tuesday that at least 21 others escaped the flooding in Little Wildhorse Canyon.

Flash Flood Watch In Effect For Portions Of Southern Nevada

A flash flood watch remains in effect in portions Southern Nevada through Thursday evening, the National Weather Service said.

The watch impacts western Clark County, southern and central Nye County, Esmeralda County, and Lincoln County, beginning at 11 a.m. through the evening.

Flash Flood Watch In Place Through Friday Night

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch across Clark County and southern Nevada for the weekend as thunderstorms are expected to hit across the valley.

The service put the warning in effect from 9 a.m. Friday morning and have it in effect through late Friday night.
