Officials Probing Death At Gold Mine Site In Northern Nevada

EUREKA, Nev. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man at a large gold mine site in northern Nevada.
 
The Eureka County sheriff said Friday the man was pronounced dead about 8 a.m. Thursday at Goldstrike mine.

Officials Monitor Tributary Of Humboldt River After Acid Spill

Eureka County authorities are continuing to monitor a tributary of the Humboldt River after a truck overturned, leading to a spill of about three thousand gallons of sulfuric acid being delivered to a mine. 

 The crash happened Wednesday afternoon north of Carlin.

Elko, Eureka Counties Join Federal Sage Grouse Lawsuit

Elko and Eureka Counties have decided to join a lawsuit against the federal government regarding its sage grouse protection plan.

The lawsuit filed in Reno says if plans go forward, the, quote, "total destruction of certain businesses," end quote, could take place.
