Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating the crash. During a press conference, Deputy Chief Brandon Clarkson called the incident a tragedy.

“I think it's important to remember that these are troopers, they have families, they're husbands, they have kids and it's especially tragic as coming into the holiday season.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested a suspect, 46-year-old Jamarcus Williams after a brief search.

Williams faces two counts each of DUI resulting in death, reckless driving resulting in death and failing to stop at the scene of a crash that resulted in a death.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Friday.
