They say chocolate stimulates the same parts of your brain that get activated when you have sex.

So if you’ve been without that special someone, or friend with benefits, for a while, or sat through years of COVID-19 gazing at the TV, then you might know about Chef Amaury Guichon.

He’s the host of the reality contest show " School of Chocolate" on Netflix.

And he works in downtown Las Vegas, where he has a pastry school on Charleston Boulevard in the heart of the Arts District.

The Switzerland-born, French-studied chef said he was properly trained as a pastry chef, but there's a visual design in pastry-making.

"When I came to the U.S. about nine years ago, I tried to kind of push the boundaries of what could be done with either chocolate or pastry."

"So I think it was like, every new challenge I tried to accomplish has to be bigger, better than the last one. And I've been doing this for the last 15 years or so, so it has been a work in process," he said.

Guichon said he sacrifices everything else in his life to accomplish what he does --"personal life, some pleasures, everything."

His inspiration for his creation lies in education:

I tried to find subjects that are interesting in the construction so that the students learn as much as possible.

He said chocolate is a beautiful, novel material to work with. If he fails, he melts it down and tries again.

And as long as the piece is out of direct UV rays and kept indoors, it can last for years.
