With a population just under 50,000, Nye County is about 50 times smaller than Clark County.

But for such a small place, it has its issues; or maybe it’s because of that smallness.

The most recent issue came to light in a Review Journal story that focuses on alleged abuse of power in the sheriff’s office.

RJ reporter Arthur Kane wrote the story, which was headlined: “Ethics questions haunt sheriff’s captain, documents reveal alleged abuse of power.”
