Last month, Congress approved a massive infrastructure package which dedicated billions to helping Western states protect their access to dwindling water supplies.
Some of that money included roughly $450 million earmarked for large-scale recycling projects. It’s a pot of money that the Southern Nevada Water Authority is eyeing closely. That’s because it could offset some of the costs associated with helping Los Angeles build a new water treatment facility – like the one used in Clark County. The deal could culminate in the transfer of thousands of acre-feet of California's allotment of the Colorado River to Nevada.
