Criminal justice advocates say there are more people who may be in similar situation — enough that a team is needed to handle cases in Nevada specifically.
The Innocence Center of Nevada just opened, and it plans to take another look at cases where the wrong person may have been accused of a crime.
Toni Ann Jones, executive director and founder of the center, said in a newspaper interview that 250 to 550 Nevada inmates were wrongly convicted.
