Steve Wynn's ex-wife Elaine Wynn is denying claims she urged women to accuse him of sexual misconduct.
Late last week, Wynn Resorts submitted court papers containing the claims as part of an attempt to have a suit by former hairdresser Jorgen Nielsen dismissed.
Witness Renee Palleggi testified in an affidavit that Nielsen contacted her and said Elaine Wynn was reaching out to media outlets about sexual misconduct allegations against Steve Wynn.
Palleggi says Nielson told her Elaine Wynn would pay Palleggi a six-figure sum to accuse Steve Wynn of rape.
In the affidavit, Palleggi rejected the idea and added, “I have known Steve for many years and never witnessed any inappropriate behavior by him.”
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nielsen's attorney called the allegations highly questionable and inaccurate.
Steve Wynn stepped down from his position at Wynn Resorts following an investigation by the Wall Street Journal. In the article, several women accused Wynn of misconduct.
Since that article, the Gaming Control Board has investigated and released a report in October that said he was "unsuitable" to hold a gaming license.
Wynn has denied the allegations against him.
