Paiute Nation Member Tapped To Head Nevada Indian Commission

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak has chosen Stacey Montooth of Reno as the new Executive Director of the Nevada Indian Commission.

The governor said in a press release this week Montooth “has extensive experience in tribal relations in Nevada and understands first-hand the multitude of issues, including health services and K-12 education, facing the 27 tribes in our state.”

Montooth is a member of the Walker River Paiute Nation and former Public Relations Officer for the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. She’ll start her new position in September.
