Las Vegas Sands, NV Energy Announce Partnership
Las Vegas Sands and NV Energy announced a long-term partnership, which both sides say will advance sustainable renewable energy at the Venetian resort.
The joint announcement on Monday comes nearly five years after Las Vegas Sands first applied to leave NV Energy.
The two companies were also on opposite sides of the most expensive ballot question campaign in state history, which targeted NV Energy’s monopoly in Nevada’s energy market.
Since voters rejected Question 3 in November, NV Energy has announced plans for $100 million in rate cuts.
NV Energy also hopes to roll out a new rate option for government entities and large, commercial customers that’s both cheaper and solar-based, according to documents filed with the PUC.
