LAS VEGAS (AP) — A federal judge has again thrown out a lawsuit against Wynn Las Vegas by dealers seeking millions of dollars in lost tips.
At a hearing Monday in downtown Las Vegas, U.S. District Judge Robert Jones agreed with the casino operator that a new national law invalidates the dealers' argument.
In March, Congress passed a law regulating tipping that negated the 2011 Department of Labor regulation on which Wynn Las Vegas dealers based their federal lawsuit.
Joshua Buck, the lawyer for the dealers, says an appeal will be filed within 30 days to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn Monday's decision.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the appeals court might hear the case in 18 months and make a ruling in 2021.
