Utility: Rodent Caused Thanksgiving Day Power Outage

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Electric utility NV Energy says a rodent caused the Thanksgiving Day power outage that affected more than 13,000 buildings in Henderson.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports homes and businesses lost power around 8 p.m. Thursday. The outage lasted almost four hours.

NV Energy spokeswoman Jennifer Schuricht says it is unclear what kind of rodent caused the outage.

She says it is also unclear how the rodent was able to damage the utility's equipment.
