Henderson, Paiute Tribe Renew Detention Agreement

A renewed agreement between the city of Henderson and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe will provide alternative inmate housing for the tribe.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the six-year contract goes into effect Sunday and will provide space at the Henderson Detention Center for the Paiute Tribe’s pretrial detainees. In exchange for the housing, the tribe will pay about $107 per day per inmate.

Only four Las Vegas Paiute inmates were housed at the Henderson Detention Center for 35 days between 2014 and 2016.

There haven’t been any detainees since 2016.
