Henderson Decides Not To Use CARES Act Funds For City Hall Renovation

The city of Henderson tells KNPR News it is moving forward with a renovation project at its city hall, but without using COVID-19 relief funds.

The city had defended its original plan to use that money because the already-planned upgrade included additional measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Administrators are now looking into the availability of capital funds.

Officials say the Henderson City Hall lobby has about 50,000 visitors per year.
