Art Museum In Las Vegas Officially Joins With Nevada Museum Of Art

The Art Museum at Symphony Park in Las Vegas has officially joined forces with Reno-based Nevada Museum of Art.

The boards completed the merger May 24, formally unifying as the Nevada Museum of Art.

Going forward, the proposed art museum in Symphony Park will be referred to as the Nevada Museum of Art.

According to a statement released by the museum, the unified entity will share a professional staff and operating infrastructure.

The two organizations had been working together for almost three years to explore the viability of such a project, to create a statewide cultural institution with fine art museums and museum schools in both Las Vegas and Reno.

Last year the two organizations collaborated on the popular Tilting the Basin project in the downtown Las Vegas arts district.
