Baseball Makes Sportsbooks Take Hit In November

Vegas sportsbooks had a record loss in November – and it can be blamed on baseball.

When the Houston Astros won the World Series, it took an $11 million bite out of Las Vegas sportsbooks. In total baseball caused the books to lose $11.4 million, which is the largest baseball loss in a month for the state’s regulated books.

The previous largest loss on baseball came in November 1999, after the New York Yankees beat the Atlanta Braves to win the World Series. That game cost the books $6.2 million.

The Vegas Golden Knights are still in 1st place in the Pacific Division … if they manage to hoist the Stanley Cup in June, it could result in the biggest loss in NHL history for Las Vegas sportsbooks.
